Training for Software Architects

Software architects are the missing link between the customer and the developers. They speak the language of the business and the developers alike. They need excellent communication skills, must have the ability to translate requirements into concepts and must be able to motivate and unify the team.

Requirements Engineering

RE has emerged to a discipline of its own and has found a permanent place in the product development community. Getting the right information from the customer in order build a product that meets the customer’s needs or the market’s demands is not an easy task. In the light of agile methods it becomes even more important.

Students will learn how to capture requirements, translate them into concepts and instruct developers to work with those concepts. Furthermore they will learn how to do that in an agile environment.

Design Patterns & Tools

Once the requirements have been captured they need to be transferred into working code. To accomplish this software architects need to be familiar with well understood and proven design patterns and tools.

Students will learn to apply patterns to a problem space and how patterns can be documented using an unambiguous UML notation.
